![]() Taylor and I have never been hot air ballooning before, so we couldn't pass up the opportunity. Pilot Lou Bartell and his crew at Canyonlands Ballooning seem like some of the finest in the business. Lou was very knowledgable of the fauna and geology of the land and was able to answer every question we asked. After a balloon ride full of geographic pointers, fun facts, and laughs, we ended with a bumpier than expected but safe landing. We celebrated riding the wind with a glass of champagne and a history on the origins of ballooning. ![]() The final toast was very special and is said with every flight: "The winds have welcomed you with softness. The sun has blessed you with warm hands. You have flown so high and so far. May the Gods join you in your laughter and send you gently back into the loving arms of Mother Earth." It was the best way we have celebrated our anniversary thus far, and I am not sure how we are going to top this next year! Check out our YouTube video to see more of these incredible views and see how bumpy the landing really was!
