When we went to Baton Rouge in February, crawfish were out of season, but when we're in Louisiana, we have to have them. We met up with a friend of mine who was, at the time, a student at LSU. She took us to Sammy’s Grill for our crawfish.
We split almost 20 pounds of crawfish, an order of cheese fries, and two orders of the fried bread pudding bites among three girls and one guy. To say we were in a food coma at the end of that would have been a true understatement!
We can’t have crawfish without a beer, so per usual, John and I ordered a couple of locally brewed beers to cool the burn of the spicy crawfish. Crawfish are typically more expensive when they are out of season, but paying a little extra at Sammy's is always worth it.
